Hello, I previously had some spasmonal from my gp but my IBD nurse doesn't want me to take it. In my case the reason is I sometimes get proximal constipation on the right side of my colon. They say the spasmonal will slow down the bowel and could cause blockages. I've had many a heated argument saying my bowel needs slowing down, but it has been proved to me by X-ray that I do have right sided constipation, even though the symptoms are crohns type watery bowel movements. Does this sound like it could maybe be the case for you ?

I was told to take Buscopan for abdominal pains by my IBD nurse? I took and and made no difference what so ever, waste of money.

I think its aimed for people suffering from IBS

There is a contraindications for conditions of stenosis of the GI and for megacolon. Now, the whys of these contraindications, I have no idea. I just assume these might be the reason why someone could be asked to not take it that would be directly related to crohn.
