Well, I'll get on board with all of that except soy... just don't think I can stomach it. I eat a lot of red meat, too - should cut down on that. Ah well! :) Thanks for the link!

Hiya Shannon

I read your other post about pain, and I advise that you cut out all red meat completely! I wouldn't touch a steak with a barge pole! or mince or pork or lamb, it's so difficult to digest, and I always think it sits in your bowels for weeks, rotting! lol

Hmm, really? I don't really pay attention, might very well be a correlation there. Gosh I love my red meat! The sacrifices we make. :p

I agree with Joan; while I love my beef, it brings me so much pain. Pork can give me problems if it's too tough. If you're hesitant to give it up though, I would try eating the meat with just salt or seasonings you know you can handle to be sure. I just work in more seafood to replace red meat.

Yeah it is a sacrifice, and a good un!
I feel so much better! I only eat chicken, turkey and fish now, salmon is my favourite, but even that has it's drawbacks! (mercury) which is why I'm Mad as a Hatter! lol

I eat loads of chicken, but can't stand fish! No matter what is done with it, either! I think its the texture. Bleh.

Never heard of them! I'll look into that. I had some red sauce with red meat recently and WOW pain. Big mistake. Definitely looking into some diet changes...
Thanks for the tips guys!

Hmmm that is an interesting link. I do some of them but not all. Green tea is every now and then most of the time I perfer water. I mostly drink water. I cannot do leafy greens, my body cannot handle it very well! I am not against soy, I guess once n a while I can add that in. Mmmm dark chocolate! Mmmm lol...Red wine is every now and then.
You guys mentioned red meat as a no no ! It was actually recommended that I eat lean red meat a couple times a week. This is due to my really low iron levels. I go for the infusions but she said to still add in any kind of easily able to chew red meat with little fat content in it to help with the iron. I cannot handle most pork either. I get really sick. I feel I am all chickened out lol I eat chicken a lot. And I make seafood dishes also.

I remember awhile ago there was a discussion on beets and how it turned my urine and someone else's urine red... I mean red like the beet juice red (looked identical to blood). I eat them becuase they are incredibly good for you - lots of vitamins... anyhow, I learned that it is called "Beeturia" and it changes the colour of urine in approx. 14% of people. (reminds me of asparagus...)

mine is quite red and it was accurate - I have very low iron levels (asked my doc to check.)

Here are some iron alternatives to red meat:

And if you want some kickarse iron supplements, try these two liquid brands:

Spatone OR Floradix

Land animal meat is a big no-no for me, even chicken.
