I know there are a lot of animal lovers here...I almost lost my mare Marci yesterday to colic. It is amazing how quickly things can go south, and of course recovery is so much slower.

But, the best sight in the world this morning was finding a small pile of manure in her stall- yay!!

And for anyone who has complained about an NG tube- be glad you are not a horse!

We used to live in West Virginia when I was a kid. I owned my own horse. My father got transferred to the Northern Virginia area and it was too expensive to keep a horse here. I wish I had been able to keep up horse back riding.

My horses were my first kids..... The one who is sick, Marci, will be 17 this year and was born on the farm..... Her mother was the first horse I bought, back in high school.....

Thankful she appears to be feeling better, I had a friend go and see her this evening while I am at work and was told she looks pissed off and wants food!! That is a great sign, but to bad for her, no food until tomorrow.

My sister has always had horse and has gone through so many of those issues. I love being able to ride through the years when we lived in same area. Horses bring your blood pressure down for sure.
