What is to be expected when taking antibiotics?
Currently in remission from the crohn's but being treated for H.pylori infection with triple therapy.
I have experienced increased abdominal pain nausea and general discomfort. Can this be another bout of Crohn's or is it the current therapy.
Currently receiving no therapy for the crohn's.
Very fatigued no appetite and feeling quite depressed just when I thought things were getting better.

Have you read about the side effects of the meds that you are on? Could possibly be from them.
Congrats on the remission! YAY!

Hi Farm,
Thanks for the support
No I had not thought of looking up the effects
had hope the GI knew what he was doing !!?

I'd look up the side effects and if they don't list what you are going through then you should talk to your GI. I'd talk to him either way.

Hi Ann - I'm sorry you aren't feeling well - but yay on the remission! I agree with what Farm said - get on google and look up all the side effects from the antibiotics they have put you on to see if any of them fit. We definitely don't want you flaring again just after you have it under control. I might go ahead and call the doctor anyway just to be safe. Hope you feel better soon!!

Ann hope you get back to where you were. With all the sick people on this forum it is good to see someone feeling healthy. (I am a bit jealous) lol

hello Pirate
thanks for the message
felt a bit better today and I think maybe its the medication causing a few problems
have another week and four days on the antibiotics and read that they do cause side effects similar to my symptoms.
UN-fortunately they can be similar to crohn's so I am hanging in and hoping for the best.
Very kind of you to enquire and it is greatly appreciated
nice not to feel alone in all of this nightmare

Hello Peaches
So good to hear from you and thank you for the message.
From what I have read the symptoms could be due to the antibiotics and hopefully will disappear when I finish the course in eleven days from now.,seems such a long time to wait.
The GI felt the duodenal ulcers and gastric inflammation would heal after this tough course of treatment.
He did warn me that the going might get a bit tough at times but that the treatment will be worth the discomfort.
Unfortunately some of the symptoms resemble crohn's ones, so here's hoping for the best that it has not returned
Time will tell---- but it is a bit depressing just when things seemed to be resolving.
I think the treatment for H.pylori is kill or cure------very aggressive therapy.
Hope things are well with you
Is that a little dog you have now---if so, how does it get along with the lovely
cats?
