I saw the doc yesterday for my small bowel, ct scan, and blood test (Prometheus & regular serum/enzyme) results.
I knew the disease had progressed just by the symptoms alone. However, it was a little further advanced than what I was anticipating. THANKFULLY still not to surgical status! There was also a diagnosis of Celiacs. However, it appears to be mild and more of a sensintivity than full blown allergy .
Doc put me on a very low dose of 6MP (50 mg daily) since I tend to be sensitive to new meds and told me he has seen good results from it w/some of his other patients. He said we would step up the dose if it was effective. I admit, the list of the side effects of this medication kinda freaked me out. However, I feel confident with the biweekly blood tests he has scheduled that he can catch any damage done before it goes past the point of no return.
I was curious what experiences others have had on this med and if it has helped at all. Like I said, I tend to be sensitive and know my reaction will most likely be different.
I have not done well on the entry level meds and I guess I am just looking for some hope that this is a good place to start.
