My 8 yr old son is on Methotrexate injections and I have recently read that this drug can irreversibly (or in some cases, just temporarily) lower your IQ and impair your cognitive functioning. My sister-in-law is a rehab specialist and she said some of her clients have complained about "fuzzy" thinking while they were on MTX. I asked our GI about it, but he has never heard of this (or claims not to have). I'm worried. Do any of you have thoughts on this matter? Thanks!

I think it can be the case in high doses of methotrexate for treatment of cancers not the doses he is on for crohn's.
I do feel tired and run down the day of taking methotrexate but that's all. Hope this helps a bit

That would be for the really high doses used as chemo not
What is used in the tiny tiny dose for Ibd .
Ibd is like 10-25 mg
Chemo -5000
