So,

I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy last week. They did find some swelling near my small intestine. I guess the Doctor took some biopsies and I will get the results from that in a week. I am seeing the specialist this week, hopefully with the results from the biopsies. We will see.
I have started drinking ensure on work days so I am not in as much pain all day. Then I eat a normal meal at night. Seems to be working for me for now.
Anyway, just an update. I really appreciated everyone who responded to me before. Any suggestions on how to approach the specialist?
Im going a little crazy because of not being able to work out, but it does seem like I am doing a little better with rest and adding the ensure. Even though that stuff is nasty!!

Thanks Everyone!

ask any question you can possibly think of, about anything you want to know.''you're the one paying them, they;re your employee.

obviously not been rude, but sometimes docs can be a little rushed. this is a serious disease so dont let him rush you.

but then, without biopsy results yet, its hard to know what to ask.

if the biopsy's come back positive for crohns or UC, let him explain it all to you what he wants to do with you.

come back here and then we can help you with our own experiences along the path he wants to try for you.

oh, and take a note pad if you dont have the best memory:D mines shocking, forgot half of what they told me;)

good work on you food diet as well, glad to hear its helping you a little:)

make a list of questions you want to ask before. and as JEd said take a notepad and pen.

make sure he/she listens to you. i saw one GI who wouldnt take any notice of my symptoms or how i was feeling. just because my tests were negitive.. me being quite ill and having the symptoms didnt matter to him.

your the patient, they have a job to listen to you.

I looked up stuff online and then asked questions when I got to the GI. It makes me feel more comfortable to know what I am asking about. I would for sure write it down. I know I forgot stuff when I left the dr. office. My GI explained everything with a picture of the intestines so I could visualize where everything was. This helped me a ton too. Hopefully you will get some pamphlets or something too. If not come back with what your doc said and we can try to help you interpret it if needed.

Thanks. Ill definitely bring a pen and paper. My appt is tomorrow. I spoke with the Gen Surgeon Yesterday who had the results of the biopsies. He said they do not know what the swelling is caused from. He did tell me the results showed swelling in my duodenum, my stomach and my colon. He is going to forward the results onto the specialist. I will see her tomorrow. Hopefully shes good. Thanks and Ill keep u posted.
