Hello All,

My name is Joe, and I live in Canada, Ontario. My life recently took a complete turnaround ever since I felt my health deteriorating. I had a start-up company going well and was about get named the fastest tech company to grow, but then my success within my own company started to decrease. I couldn't focus 50 pounds of unintentional weight loss, severe stomach pain, I felt weak and the list goes on. I thought I had some sort of allergic reaction, or intolerance to some food. Although that wasn’t it either. I changed doctors to get my answers I need. I used to be overweight, and then the same person that used to call me "fat" as a joke, 4 months later told me "don't go anorexic on me". I thought to myself, I need answers. By then I closed my company down, because I needed to spend more time with my health and family. I also lost my girlfriend because of this. Finally one doctor told me to get a scope done. Month later they find out I have Crohn's. I have recently been put on budensoide. It seems to be working like magic, but I think it is "over working" also, because it is so strong.

Since now I am getting treatment and better, I am going to take my talent in business management, web development, IT security, and marketing and create a large social media/ web awareness for this disease because I feel authorities do not put enough effort to focus on CD and UC. I have been working on this awareness/donation campaign and I will notify all of you when it is going to be launched. If you have any questions please feel free to post it here or message me. Thank you everyone.

aje,

I am glad to hear that the budisone is working well and that you are getting better; "over working" is good :)
The deeper your remission is, the better. This way you will be able to lead a normal life with minimal damage to your intestines.

It is also encouraging that you are tunneling your skills to this issue; would love to hear more details of what you are doing there and what ot is going to be exactly.

Feel well amd good luck with the project !

Thank you! I just find it very sad that before I got diagnosed with Crohns; I had no clue what it was. It shows that there is not enough awareness and publicity about this disease. If there was, it could probably increase the chances of finding a cure instead of a treatment. I am thankful, but will with the way technology is innovating there should be innovation in removing the "chronic" part from crohns. This could only be done with the help of everyone. I will keep you posted. I have to talk to the administration first and get there input on it first before posting it here. I have already spoken to one administrator. Thank you for the motivation and I wish everyone feels better.

Good Day Joe and welcome aboard,
This is just my 2 cents, yes raising money can be great...
but for me, my concern is about how bowel disease funds are used.

As you said, I too would much rather research toward finding cause and cure for IBD.

The IBD research pie is a huge pile of money annually and growing
but most funds and study are focused toward new drugs.
Ongoing treatment for incurable disease is big, lucrative business.
They get ya on the comeback.

Yes I would love to increase awareness and raise funds for research!
But I sometimes fear as a group we are treated more like a big sick cashcow?
Lots of sharp minds are working to discover and patent a new helpful molecule for fame and riches.

It is my sincere hope that we sufferers benefit from IBD spending too.
sorry to be wary,
Walt

ps
too many good folks hurting too much for too long
few know, few care

The most money is being spent developing drugs to make more money.
I applaud all efforts to reduce our suffering.
:)
