Hi everyone,

This horrible cycle I get myself into. Not sure when I will learn. So, the cycle goes, I start feeling well, start eating foods I know cause problems at some point, getting low sleep, then tummy problems, then I'm careful, lots of sleep, start to feel better and the cycle starts again. Not sure when I'm gonna learn that it doesn't work for me and to have more control over my decisions. I really don't know why I do this to myself.

Anyone else go through something similar?

Yes. You don't want the disease to define your whole life so as soon as you start feeling okay you're thinking "right - I'm going to enjoy myself!". Even when I was quite ill I'd occasionally give into temptation to have some drinks and get a curry ;-).

I'm not sure it's necessarily bad. Doing something you enjoy does make you feel better mentally, and that can be half the battle.

Yes. I got a fitbit to track my exercise, and it also tracks my sleep. I do better if I get 9-10 hours a night, but it doesn't happen enough. I try to have a nap after a bad night. When you get a craving for something on your nono list, try substituting. I've made pizza with soy mozzarella, and it doesn't bother my stomach. Instead of cake, I make little cupcakes with a dab of icing, and freeze them. There are tons of alternate recipes, Google them.
