ulcerative colitis
I was diagnosed with U.C. in 1998 after many years of being an annoyance at best I had a severe outbreak in May 2010, I was not prepared for the next hell of ten weeks ahead. I was in the hospital for 4 days in denial thinking I maybe had travelers diarrhea. I was shocked to learn that I had a severe outbreak of colitis. After prednisone and anti-inflammatory drugs my GI decided that remicade was going to be the way to go. I have just finished my 10th treatment. This drug has been a wonder drug for me with minimal symptoms, annoying yeast infections and now a nasty rash which I'm currently looking into and being told that this is a normal reaction to remicade. I'm going to contact my GI for confirmation of this and find out how to deal with this latest issue (although I will take these symptoms any day over the colitis) If anyone out there has had similar issues with the rash can you give me a heads up on how you were treated for it, any info would be great
