Hi guys
havnt been around much lately as I been tryin to drag myself out of a hole of depresion
sittin at home all day/night is startin to take it's toll I guess

as alot if you know i'm on a drug trial which seems to be helping quite a bit, but I still hav alot of cd symptoms n problems

the one that is gettin to me the most ATM is
no matter what time I go to bed or what time I hav dinner or if I even hav dinner I find myself waking up at 4am an rushing to the loo

this then continues til about 9-9:30am
approx every half hour to an hour
I've tried eating diff things or not eating before bed etc but no luck
this is gettin me pretty depressed as of love a decent nights sleep
plus I can't see myself gettin back to work if i'm to be like this as I do shift work and if I'm going to be waking up like I am now I'll never get sleep etc

has anyone else experienced somethin like this an if so what did ya do to slow it or stop it
any help be appreciated as i'm goin crazy

Hiya Rob
good to hear from you!
sorry you're having a rough time, no idea what could be happening there tho.
No wonder you're depressed, sleep deprivation is a killer, hope you're getting some kips during the day tho.
How about phoning your doc?
Hang on in there Rob, you're doing so well
xx

Hi Rob, I know it has been a while since we have crossed paths but you seem to be doing well. You really need your sleep, and with sleep deprivation and nutrient loss you are going to feel whacked out during the day and that will cause depression. Which can cause heart problems if you get too depressed.

You need to get a prescription for Cholestyramine, or Questran (brand name) you can take it before you go to bed and you wont have the D thru the night. You take the pkgs according to your bm. Surgery, meds, and Crohns cause the D. Another thing that helps is eating banana's  they have potassium, and is a prebiotic, so much goodness and slows down the bowels. But get the Questran, it will help ok? Hang in there get some sleep!

Hi Rob - Sorry you're having such a hard time right now. Sleep deprivation is a real killer - I guess that's why it's used as a form of torture!

If you are depressed and having issues with D and frequency, perhaps talk to your doc about Imiprimine or Amitriptyline. Both are tricyclic anti-depressants. They do have some side effects, but one GOOD one is that they are anti-spasmodic and can cause constipation. It would help with the depression and the D. Just a thought. They are strong drugs, though, so obviously you want to weigh the benefits vs other side effects.

Have you tried going to be earlier, so you can get a good several hours in before the witching hour of 4 am?

I hope you get some relief soon.

- Amy

Thanks guys

yea I been goin bed about 7:30-8pm an stil up at 4am
doesn't matter if I go bed at 6-7 or 11 always about 4 am I need get up then it's a struggle get back sleep etc cos u keep gettin up all time

I don't know what it is, it sux
I usually go bed feelin pretty good but come mornin it's a real struggle
if I can over come this prob I feel I can prob get back to work, this new drug is pretty good so far - touch wood
I've gone from about 30-40 bm a day to an average of around 14
hopefully things wil keep improving but guess it's jus gonna be a slow going
I've got some questran here but not sure if they wil ruin the drug trial I'll hav to find out
would possibly some imodium or lomotil before bed do a similar job? I'm allowed to use them but meant try avoiding it
tho i won't mind using it occasionally to get a good nights sleep once in a while to keep me sane

Rob I would avoid the Imodium, not a good choice, it is only for very temperary use. The questran would help and it is alot safer. Try it, 30m a day is very bad for the absorption of nutrients.
