Undiagnosed - Question!

Hi everyone!

I'm currently undiagnosed, and just have a couple of questions. I recently got the results back from my ct scan, which showed inflamation in my small intestines. My GI suspects either IBD, or some type of parasite/infection (although I've had at least 6 negative tests for parasites). He is sending me for an MRI enterography next, and I'm just curious as to whether anything will show up if I'm not experiencing symptoms at the time of the test? At this point I would just like any type of diagnosis, but I'm worried something will be overlooked if I'm not having a "flare up". Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum, Selena! I believe things will "show up" even if you are not in an active flare. What have your symptoms been? Have you had a colonoscopy too? The parasite theory sounds like it can be discarded! Good luck and let us know the outcome of the tests.

I believe that even if you are not experiencing symptoms, scar tisssue will show up, especially on an mri which is one of the most detailed images you can get.

Thank you for your replies! Lilly - I have had a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy, both with biopsies and negative results. I guess my inflammation is in an area they can't reach during the scopes. My symptoms are: diarrhea with mucous (up to 15 times a day), abdominal pain, joint pain, headaches, loss of energy, 25lb weight loss (99lbs at 5"4), along with many others!
