Hi all,

Just wanted to check in with a quick update from my GI appt Friday. It was a good appt, I really liked the doc. She agreed that my situation needs further investigation. She wasn't really happy about my scope done by the general surgeon (at my place of work)....she said it "wasn't acceptable"..lol. I love the general surgeon that did my scope but I agree that he didn't seem real concerned he would find anything..and then told my husband that "nothing is ever found on that right side anyways". Ummm....that's where my ileum is and thats where I have my pain???

Anyways...she ordered a bunch of labwork just to check up on things that way. Tomorrow I am having a Ct enterography and she also wants to repeat the colonoscopy in about 6 weeks. She wants me off of prednisone which is bitter sweet...it is helping but I don't want to hide anything by being on it. She asked if I remember having a lot of pain during my scope.....I said yes..and the nurses told my husband they had to give me a lot of meds! She said..things could be harder because of my history of endometriosis and scaring r/t this. She said she would enlist a anesthesiologist instead of a RN...so they could give me "better drugs". She said the more relaxed I am...the better.

So...all in all....I was really impressed with her....seems to really care and wants to help me figure this out. Were any of you diagnosed via CT enterography?....sounds like they can get a pretty good look at the small intestines, etc??

Ok..better run....I'll keep everyone updated.

Hugs

Yeah Olivia.....It is so nice to here positive things!

I was initially diagnosed through CT scan back in 1998. They were looking for appendicitis!....My disease is in the terminal ileum and I have always had normal colonoscopies...(Except they could never sneek a peek into the ileum like they wanted to do)
I am so happy you found a good doc. It makes dealing with this stuff so much easier.

I was diagnosed after a CT scan as well. Athough my colonoscopy confirmed the Crohn's as well. Good luck!

The need of my recent surgery and the extent of potential fistulas and inflammation I had was done by CT. It can show intestinal thickness as opposed to just a picture of the inside, which is very helpful to the doctor. Good luck!

Whew, I read this a couple of times, before I figured out what you meant.

At first, I thought they did a Colonoscopy at your work place? I hope she doesn't work in a restaurant or retail shop, I am thinking! Where the heck do they do Colonoscopies any old place.

I hope the testing goes well for you, and they get a good idea what is going on. Don't let them do it at your work place!

HI all...

Thanks for the comments! I made it thru the CT....the contrast wasn't the greatest but was much better than the Movi prep for my scope. I have had an icky tummy ever since though. All that fluid....I felt like I was going to burst...did increase my pain a little too. No results yet but I do have a signed release and can access my results in the morning...

Oh..and to clarify..(for Dan)....LOL....I didn't realize how I made that sound..lol. I meant that I work at a medical center...I'm a telephone triage RN....so...technically..the scope was done at my place of work....lol. I wanted to have it there because I know everyone, etc. In retrospect...I'm thinking I should have went with the specialist (in the nearby city).....we don't have any GI docs at our medical center..only general surgeons who do all the colonoscopies...hope that helps clarify?? LoL

My GI did order some bloodwork and I looked at those results yesterday. My CRP was 8.6.....normal is less than 3. I'm a little confused though because they did the high sensitivity CRP....I was looking for info on it..and all I can find is stuff relating to heart disease risk...yeeek. I hope this isn't the case for me..I hope it's r/t my inflammation...otherwise I'm doomed to have a heart attack...lol...anyone help with this??

Ok..I'll keep you updated....I feel bad for thinking this but I just hope the CT shows something....I'm so sick of being sick and I want a reason for it....I'm starting to think everyone thinks i'm nuts??
