Thought I would give an update on how my son Jack is doing with his flare up last weekend was really bad he was having lots of diarrhoea no energy and had lost weight from last week phoned his Ibd nurse who advised me to bring him in to hospital Fecal calprotection came back at 2500,crp39and esr also high was told he would have to go back on Modulen for eight wks had his ng tube fitted on Monday and got out of hospital today so hoping this will work like last time he was on feeds and he starts to grow and put on weight.

So sorry to hear he is flaring so badly. Does he take any meds for his Crohns or are you trying to controll it with EN? I hope the EN does the trick and he is into remission and gaining weight quickly!

Have they checked his levels to make sure his azathioprine is at theraputic levels? How is he handling the Ferrous sulphate? My son had a hard time with any of the iron supplements they gave him, they would make him sick to his stomach. I was so glad when his anemia was back in check.

I do hope the modulen does the trick quickly!

Hospital think they may have to change his medication he has to go back in to hospital in April to have scopes done so doctors will decide then. He has had no side affects at all from the iron tablets.

I am so sorry your son is going through this. I'm 62 and retired and my heart goes out to ALL the young kids that have IDB. I wish I could do something to help, I just pray that he goes into remission soon.

Sorry to hear things are getting worse. Hope the Modulen works well again - we have only had to do it once, it's a hard slog but worth it. Good they are doing scopes. Think if we ever need a NG tube again I will ask to go to Yorkhill - they didn't seem to know what they were doing locally!

Sorry he is having a flare hope the modulen does the trick and gets him feeling better at least until appt/scopes and you can figure out what to do next.

Sorry to hear he's not doing well. I'm so happy with how well my daughter is doing with EEN, but wondering what is going to happen when she starts eating in another week...

Oh no, your poor lad...:ghug:

I hope things are settling now he is home, bless him. Good luck with the scopes!
