Ok so I basically jumped the gun and on March 27th I had a small bowel resection. They took out 11 inches of scar tissue infected nasty diseased intestine. They said it looked pretty bad, bad enough to where my surgeon said it was a good thing I jumped the gun and went for surgery instead of further medicine because she said the medicine probably would have done nothing for me. So I'm pretty happy about it! It's been 15 days and besides slight pain from surgery and my bowels starting to move again (oh man the gas pains SUCK!) I feel really good! My surgeon said I should feel better for quite a while (fingers crossed!) but the disease of course could always flare up. I'm currently not on any crohns medicine at the moment and also got off the prednisone! Yes!! Just got some good old Vicodin. Which I need to ween off of starting tomorrow. :( haha.

Here's to the future!

Congrats! Glad it went well for you...hope you stay in remission for a long time :)

Aw Way to go Danielle!

Here's to a long, pain free, happy remission xxxx

Great to hear!
I had My first Resection and had about 6 inches of large intestine removed also.
This may NOT have nothing to do with you!
But if you have loose stools in a couple months, there is a medication called Questron That Binds the Fat in your Stool, Problem Solved.
I had years of NO symtoms after Surgery.
I wish you all the Best....Archer

Now that's the way it is supposed to workout! Good to hear the successful side of things every once in a while. And take it easy for a bit Dan. It took me quite some time to get any muscle tone back in the abs. Don't push it or it takes longer :)

Thank you everyone for the well wishes :) But I was wondering if anyone knows much about Remicaide? Or anyone that is on Remicaide? I need to start it on May 5th to hopefully keep myself in what they call remission. Kind of a scary word but I'll take it!

Hi Danielle

Check out the thread called Remicade club, lots of info there

That's so great, Danielle! Sometime you just have to go with our "gut" instinct and it certainly seems that jumping the gun worked out for you!

Best wishes for a speedy and easy recovery - and a looooooooooooooooooong remission!
