I have the Stool Calprotectin and Lactoferrin results. Would this not indicate IBS?
1. Calprotectin, Fecal is 46. The normal is <16 - 50 ug/g. (It seems it's on the high end of normal.)
2. Lactoferrin is 20.57 High. The normal is 0.00 - 7.24 ug/ml.

I saw my Primary Care Doctor. She wasn't sure why I have those symptoms/test results, and said it could be different things. She said to ask a GI about the CT and test results. I can see another GI at the hospital clinic. If he doesn't do anything, I'll go to the other hospital's GI clinic.

Caeryn23, nice to have you hear. I don't really no much about reading these lab results so I am not qualified to even offer a suggestion about what they could mean. You should see a GI and if they are not able to help you seek a second opinion like you said you plan to do. I believe that is the best action.

Just mainly wanted to say hello! :D

Hi Caeryn
A high lactoferrin level is indicative of inflammation, and it could be due to Crohn's
among other things such as infection.
It is important to see a GI about these results and be properly checked out.
Hugs and best wishes
