It's been a strange few weeks but very good ultimately. Thanks to MaskdMarvl's advice on getting advanced tracked through medicaid I have medicaid. I ended up in the ER again with a stricture in my small intestine. That was unusual. I told the GI about medicaid and like a week later it was my golden ticket. I got that taken care of, I've been taking pentasa which my GI thinks is good, especially now that it seems more like my small intestine might be more diseased then thought. I still have to call Monday and for a followup on a small bowel series I had done Friday and might have to have another endoscope. But thank god I'm at least getting help. The pentasa isn't a cure-all and neither is the entocort EC, but they do help and with lomotil and lortabs I'm feeling so much better and able to do so much more so quickly. I also started that Specific Carbohydrate Diet, more to try to get nutrients, sometimes I break the rules, you probably know how it goes. Anyway, that seems to have helped too. Oh yea, after a skin biopsy they figured out what this nasty rash was on my buttocks and it's almost gone after 3 days of fluconazole and a cream.
Also through all this, I get to see a therapist every week and a psychiatrist, and my meds there only cost $4. I'm bipolar on top of Chrons, so it's really nice to know that I'm finally getting somewhere. I'm even able to exercise like I used to.
I almost feel like I'm jinxing myself in writing this hehe
It just took a major fit to get some attention to myself and a GI who was willing to help me get this stuff done. I didn't really like him at first, but after all this he seems to be very interested in getting me at least stable. If I can kick into a real remission, I might just flip out.
