Well it's been a busy few weeks. Andrew is very tired these days even on the iron liquid. The IBD nurse phoned yesterday - Andrew's 6-TG test came back and his levels are too high, so his 6mp is being reduced from 75mg to 60mg. Of course you can only get the 10mg capsules at the hospital rather than the local pharmacy! At least they have a Starbucks :lol2:
On a positive note - Andrew's faecal calprotectin came back as well it's gone down to 80 which is great (it was about 650).
Only 6 days to go until our cruise - feel like we all really need the break! Taking lots of books and going to relax!

I hope the reduction in the 6mp does the trick and he starts feeling better soon. Good to hear that his faecal calprotectin has gone down soo much.

Enjoy your cruise...:beerchug:

It sounds like things may be headed in the right direction, I hope he continues to improve and that going down to a lower dose of 6mp will help!
Where are you cruising to? I have always wanted to go on a cruise, someday! I hope you all get the chane to relax and escape reality for a bit.

Woohoo Sascot! So fab to hear about the FC! :dusty::dusty::dusty:

I hope the 6MP dose reduction does the trick and his levels stabilise. :goodluck:

Bon voyage and happy cruising!

Is Andrew going on the cruise with you? I hope things continue in a positive direction.

Relax? What's that? Oh, wait. I have vague memories of relaxing... like five years ago pre-dx!

Hopefully tweaking the dosage will help!!!

Have a GREAT time on your cruise!! Yes, where are you going? And is everyone going? :)

Thanks everyone. We are all going on the cruise - hubby and the 2 kiddies. This will be our 4th cruise - we love it. Poor Andrew doesn't want to do much swimming with his fistula (and the broken finger now), but there is plenty to do.
We go to Tenerife, Lanzarote, La Palma, Madeira and Portugal. Hoping it's not too hot! Just booked a tour for Andrew and my husband to see the football stadium in Lisbon, Portugal - they should really enjoy that. Hoping to book Amy to go with one of us to a waterpark in Tenerife as well. Just looking forward to having some fun! Also going to enjoy not having to cook and clean for 2 weeks!! :lol2:

Good/bad news. Looks like the med is working, just his body isn't taking care of the med right... Hopefully the tweaking of his dose will give him the energy he needs to enjoy the cruise. Wish I could go too! Sounds almost as nice as Dusty's castle :)

Wow, sounds like an amazing cruise!! My parents have a condo in Portugal and I am sooo missing it! Haven't been in 5 or 6 years but love it there!

Have a GREAT GREAT time!! :sun:

Hope the reduction of the 6mp does the job but great news about the calprotectin result :) we will be 3 weeks this tue since sending the stool sample away so im hoping they call soon with the results. How lovely going on a cruise, nice weather to relax, im looking out the window as we speak and its raining heavy ( kids go off for summer hols today too) great Scottish weather, lol xx

Sounds like a wonderful vacay!!! I hope adjusting the med helps with the fatigue. Have a wonderful time on the cruise!

Have a wonderful trip, Sascot! I hope your boy stays well and you all enjoy yourselves. There's nothing like a cruise, I say! Wouldn't mind going myself, as I look at the pouring rain outside. Apparently here in 'New Scotland' the weather is the same as in 'Old Scotland' today! Summer break starts here today too-figures...

Well I'm all packed and ready to go. Just about tearing my hair out trying to make sure I have everything and I feel like a travelling pharmacy! Just food to make up tomorrow morning and then we're off! :cheerleader::cheerleader:
I will check in when I get back and see how everyone is getting on!

 Enjoy the cruise!!!! Hope everyone has a fantastic time!!

Have a wonderful time on you cruise! *lucky* :)

We've never been on one...maybe next year though? Since you've been on a few, which was your favorite, so far?

Hang on! You forgot me!

Have a brilliant time Sascot! Bon Voyagey!
