I had my colonoscopy this morning.. I was a nervous wreck the entire time.
The prep was horrible.. I ended up vomiting last night, but was still cleaned out enough to do the colonoscopy.
My doctor was absolutely amazing. He was dressed up for festival season and said, “happy scopefest”.. lol -it’s Jazzfest here
Everyone at the outpatient facility treated me wonderfully.
After all was done, he came to talk to my husband and me. I have Ulcerative Colitis.
He showed me the pictures..
I started crying.
We are starting treatment today and in 3 weeks I will see him again for a game plan to hopefully get into remission.

All and all, my doctor was the absolute best and I’m a bit cry baby.. lol

Let the ‘new’ me begin.

Welcome to the IBD club. I would say congratulations, but somehow that's not quite right for being told you have a difficult, incurable disease.

But there is an actual silver lining here - namely, once you have a solid diagnosis the path becomes much clearer on what to do about it. There are many effective treatments out there and additional ones coming online nearly every year. Your job from here will be to partner with your doctor to find the best combination of medication, diet, and healthy lifestyle that will get you into remission and keep you there for as much of the time as possible.

What you will find on this site is tons of support, knowledge, and advice from people who have trod this path ahead of you. We're all in this together and together we are that much stronger.

By the way it sounds you have found yourself a great doctor. You are off to a very good start, I wouldn't let the diagnosis discourage you as there are many ways to manage this kind of condition. Anyways welcome to the club!

Thank y’all so much!
Sorry, I went MIA.. I’ve been fighting a miserable cold all weekend [emoji849]
