Hello all.
So as I mentioned in my last post, I managed to get an appointment to see someone up at UCH as I was getting very ill but had no medication.
Yesterday I saw both my IBD nurse & my consultant together and we made a serious game plan.
I was given a month's worth of Azathioprine to tide me over, along with Metronidazole & Ciprofloxacin to try and blast the hell out of the infection which we think may be an abscess next to my stoma.
Meanwhile they're booking me in for an MRI for the small intestine, to see if these things are fistulas or abscesses, along with one for the bottom end, just to make sure there's no abscesses or collections down there too.
They're also gonna consult with the surgeons to see how far in the future my reconstructive surgery will be, if it's a while away, I'll be starting on Humira, a new one by me but I did inject with Methotrexate so I'm not too worried, so long as it doesn't make me a poorly as that did.
Anyway had the compulsory ton of bloods done along with a chest x-ray yesterday in prep for being put onto Humira & started the hefty antibiotics and Azathioprine today.
I'm a bit annoyed I got so bad in the first place but I'm happy I'm finally getting some treatment plans sorted so I thought I'd share
