Last few weeks have been rough! I was diagnosed in May, and had been feeling lots better after a few Remicade infusions. Then suddenly I started hurting really bad. I just thought I had eaten something bad. A day later I woke up with a fever of 104. My husband took me too the hospital. I had the fever, really low blood pressure, and a heart rate of 183. They were worried about my heart too. One night it dropped to around 30. They did heart tests though and I'm fine. They said my fever And infections what caused the heart rate issues. Anyways after a whole bunch of tests they discovered I had Cdiff, a new abscess in my colon, and a complex fistula in my intestines. They also did a test and saw I had no Remicade in my system. So for me, 8 weeks is too long to go inbetween infusions. I'm back to every four weeks now. I'm home now, and feeling better, except the dang prednisone makes me jittery and hungry all the time. They are hoping the fistula and abscess will heal on its own and I won't need surgery. I was in the hospital for 7 days and they did drain the abscess.

I'm sorry you've had such a hard time, it sounds like you had a horrible few days. Its fairly common in the UK for them to move remicade closer together if people aren't responding to treatment so hopefully it will work for you. I hope they are able to get the abscess and fistula under control with medication alone.

I hope you continue to feel better, remember to listen to your body and don't over do things for a few weeks and be sure to contact your team if things aren't improving or if you notice any new or unusual symptoms.
