HI everyone. My daughter is having both upper and lower scopes on Tuesday morning. I want to make sure I am allowing her to eat the correct foods. The chart given to me at the GI clinic seems to be the hospital menu for the low residue diet. It differs from the diets listed in the link from a previous response . I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing. I was told on the day of the procedure she can drink clear fluids and I'm just not sure. Instructions given were low residue diet Saturday and Sunday. At 6pm Sunday 2 docolax pills. Monday 9 and half cups of miralax.

My son had it last month. The day before prep day he could eat until midnight anything. After midnight and prep day jello soup liquids. Afternoon before scope we started prep he had two ducolax at 3 at 5 started the miralax/Gatorade mix and at 9 took more ducolax. He never finished the miralax the volume was too much he started vomiting. He was perfect abs clear for scope on time.

That sounds right - what we do is clear liquids on the prep day. Lots of broth, jello etc. Plus of course, Miralax in Gatorade and Dulcolax. The day of the scope, she stops having clear liquids about 4-6 hours before the procedure.

If you're unsure about anything, call your nurse. They're very used to questions like this. Each hospital has a slightly different procedure, so it's better to check with them.

They make clear
Gatorade
Ice version
And organic is completely clear - target has them on sale
Koolaid has clear. Version as well
Check on popsicle colors
Every place is different but typically no blue red or purple

But docolax plus miralax is standard for ds

Calmoseptine for barrier cream is recommended so the skin is not sore
Videos that are portable for the bathroom
Typically 4 -6 hours after ducalax things start really moving

Already a week before the procedure I was told not to eat any nuts, go off of the blood thinners 4 days prior. I was allowed to eat solid foods up until 24 hours before the day of the scope.
The day before the scope I had to take the docolax followed by a jug of peglyte that is consumed throughout the afternoon and into the evening. No solid foods or dairy products. Clear juice only, nothing with red or blue food coloring.
On the morning of the scope I was asked to take the last of the peglyte and a docolax tablet.
After the scope I usually rest and feel quite hungry. I go for my favorite food afterwards. The procedure itself is quite pleasant. The sedation will feel good and I sometimes sleep for an hour or so in the recovery area. The nurse then brings juice and some cookies. The worst part of the whole thing is the day before drinking the prep, and timing the bathroom trips. Some advice, keep a clear path to the toilet when doing the prep.
