I had written earlier this week that I had a bowel resect done in '08..Well after reading so many posts on the ileum and surgery, I guess I understand a bit more about the surgery.

I had read so many posts that people talked about the ileovalve (sp)
I thought ok mine is still there maybe I won't have the issues so many others said they had after surgery. NOT.. my anastomisis included the distal ileum to beyond the cecum and small bowel all totaling just over 28 cm. then add the appendix because it was dead as well..

I am upset because I thought this wouldn't happen in the same area again, maybe a patch away from it. When the last GI did my scope in 2009 he said he couldn't get past the ileum so I had a Cs but because I Am allergic to dyes we used whole milk and alot of it, she took 1 picture. 2 weeks later I was called with inconclusive findings..

So as I stated in another post I have pain in the ascending ,descending colon and just about where the pancreas is located,my stools are clay colored and occasionally I have blood even w/o bm or gas..Am I doomed at this point? I have had major pain and my eyes and joints are so sore and achy. I go to new GI in 2 days then I will prob have to wait another week or so before I have yet another scope.

Is there anyone out there that has had this issue and what was the outcome? Please any info or questions for new doc would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Oh and Happy Valentines Day

Before I was diagnosed, they would have me going back and forth all the time. Testing my BM's, urine, etc..It was like running in circles. Finally I saw a GI. I Hope your new GI is a good one who takes you seriously. I thought it was normal to have clay colored stools...lol..I'm so glad to learn that you can drink whole milk instead of drinking that awful orange dye stuff..I'm gonna lie and say I'm allergic next time. ;)
I know how it is to have the crohn's flare in the same spot, mine is the same way. It hasn't messed with my small intestine yet. It just flares up in my lower left side. I have had my ileum connected to the last nine inches of colon that I have left. I too have joint pain, but no pain in my eyes. I hope it's nothing serious. Best wishes!
