Hi everyone
I recently had some duodenitis (inflammation of the first loop of sm intestine)
My GI doc prescribed Carafate this is used to heal duodenal irritation. My sister even used it when she was prescribed a strong anti-inflammatory for her RA to stop irritation of her stomach. Well anyway I found it to help halt my diarrhea and just generally stop that nawing feeling feeling in my gut. I actually have had some soft bms instead of pure D since October. It is cheap the only draw back is has to be taken before meals and the pill will actually start melting as you swallow it and it tends to taste like chalk. But it works well so I thought it would be worth sharing

I was on that for a few weeks as well. It definitely helped me with the acid churning feeling in my gut. I think its really just like a super charged pepto?

Thats interesting that Carafate works for that problem. I give Carafate to my infant for severe acid reflux. The dr says that it works by healing the esophagus from irritiation and inflamation due to acid reflux. Im glad to know that you have gotten relief from that....I would never have thought~
