I am a 65 year old male with Crohn's. Two months ago I had scope and was told my Crohn's was in remission, very good news or so I thought it was. Now totally off Emuran (probably sp wrong) was on 2 pills a day for 9 years. Dr put me on Colisted 2 a day. I thought my bowels would settled down wrong things are worse. now I am confined to the house for most of the day. I go to bathroom 5 to 6 times. Went to my family Dr yesterday asked him if I could double up on my Colisted as in reading in the forum people are having great results with this medicine. Now I am on 4 Colisted pills a day and all it seems to do is upset my stomach, no difference. Other than being tired all the time and having no energy I am otherwise healthy. How do I get my bowels under control. Tried Imodium and Metimucial, no difference. Thanks for letting me tell my story. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi maybe you can see about changing the med as it may not be suitable for you. Have another word with your doctor. Best wishes 💕

Hi thanks for responding, no I have not had any other tests. Going to see my Crohn's doctor on Thursday 21st. This is my third day on 4 Colestid pills. Seems a bit better. When the Doctor told me my Crohn's was in remission about a month ago, I thought that was it no more problems with my bowels. Not the case, I don't even know what it means to be in remission, all she said after the scope that it was very good news that I am in remission. Before the scope the doctor was planning to get me on Remicade now that is not an option. No sure where to go from here...... Must be some other medicine out there to help control this bowel problem...... I am now wondering if she was correct is saying I am in remission. So many unanswered questions.

I had something similar happen . The first enterography said I was in remission . I felt something was right. They did it again. I am not in remission. I am on Colestid also. They keep changing how many I take compared to how my bowels are doing.
