Discussion of high rate of genetic mutations in infants and young children with severe early onset Crohn's.

Article also refers to experimental allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation treatment of 5 children that induced remission (follow up 2 years) apparently in all 5 children. Wow.

VERY exciting.

Parents may want to consider contacting the research team if they are interested in more information about future clinical trials. To do this, follow this link and then use the e-mail link for the last author on the list.

Thank you very much for this!
I have a very severely ill crohn's boy, diagnosed at the age of 26 months. In fact the IL10 tests were proposed last spring, but because he was on Remicade, the results would not have been reliable.
We will definitely ask about these tests now, because we are finished with Remicade now.

Thanks again!
