Does anyone else have this problem? I'm not sure if I have really thin skin or if it's just translucent, but I find it pretty gross and I haven't always been like this so I'm wondering if it's been a side effect from something I've taken before. I've been on too many drugs at the same time to narrow if down though.

I know there's nothing I can really do about it and apart from looking see through, it doesn't really bother me. Was just curious to see if anyone else has experience with it and what could of caused it!

I have noticed this too with my own veins/skin, and I've noticed it when I wasn't on any meds. So I'm assuming it's either part of the disease or it's just a quirk of my body. It always makes me laugh when they go to take blood or do an IV on me and they have a hard time finding a vein - I'm like, you can see the veins clearly, why are you having a problem finding one??

no idea.. fancy putting up a pic of your arms so others can say if its normal or not?

Cat- I know what you mean about the blood tests.. ironically my best vein is one you can hardly see! It's hard to figure out if these things are Crohn's/drug related or just me because I was diagnosed so young. I've come to embrace my paleness though!

Rygon- sure.. this is the best I could do on my web cam. Please ignore my pjs lol. You can literally see them all over though.

I've got the same thing going on. For me, they are most prominent during a bad flare... I haven't found a connection with any meds.

Ok, so I'm glad I'm not the only one then. I wonder what causes it..

And I don't think vampires would want my blood anyway! lol

I've had the same sort of thing all my life, so not link to illness I don't think (whatever I have) - my arm looks just like that, but I've always attributed it to being crazy pale...haha when I get out of a nice, hot shower, I've got this one that runs from my left shoulder all the way across my chest to the other side...I call it my lightening bolt - like Harry Potter but way less of a cool story :) I'm sorry it's bothering you! If you see them continuing to appear, I was told compression stockings can help - although terribly uncomfortable!

think i remember having this problem when i was on PRED in my colitis days. i wonder if anyone on pred at the moment can check the leaflet you get in the box?

Thanks for the advice Rach.. but I don't think they sell whole body compression socks! Although it might keep me cosy at this time of year!

Well if avatar can make having blue skin and being 8ft tall attractive, I'm going to start rocking my transparent skin and hope the trend takes off. Wish me luck.

YES! Ugh I hate it...my arms look just like yours. When I went to public school people would constantly ask why I always wore a sweatshirt, that's exactly why. Well and my arms are really skinny and it bugs me. My veins are mostly visible on my abdomen and chest but that might be a part of my pale skin as well.

Yup, I am getting visible veins too. I am not on pred but Entocort.....same same I think....

Best, Ant

I have them all over and some VERY noticeable ones from the corners of my mouth going down to my neck...it looks like I'm dribbling blue Kool-Aid out of my mouth.

My husband calls me an exhibit. HAHAHA!!!
