hi everyone, I have a question. I have been taking Remicade for 3 years now and I was told one of the possible side effects could be "tiredness". I experience this after my infusion and just go home and sleep for a few hours and usually feel better. Well for the past bit I am just tired all the time and wondering what is some good vitamins to take.

I have not yet gone to the doctor about his as I know he will do the same, blood tests etc and to be honest I am fed up with the same thing all the time, I guess after being diagnosed for 35+ years with Crohns I am just fed up. So if somebody can suggest something that may give me a boost I would appreciate it. :sign0085:

B12 in methyl form

Buy a juicer and start juicing.

If your not in the mood to juice do green whole food powders. Something like a Healthforce Vitamineral Green, Dr Schulze Superfood, Pure Synergy Superfood. Either one will give you good natural energy and all from natural foods you normally wouldn't find in your regular diet.

I would recommend asking your doctor to test your vitamin levels. My doctor tests certain markers more regularly (sed rate, cbc, liver functioning), and only tests my vitamin levels every year or as needed. Iron, B vitamins (B12 especially), and Vitamin D are commonly low in Crohn's patients.

I was just about to ask the SAME exact question! I have been on Remicade for 3 yrs, same as you. Normal fatigue post treatment. Lately Ive been fatigued the majority of the time. I just started taking VitD 5,000IU. And started giving myself b12 injections. No change yet. Im hoping for the best though, as I work full time and go to school. Im trying to limit grains/carbs and focus on juices, protein and veggies. I know it wont change over night, But I miss my energy level from when I first started Remi :( Hope you find what works for you!

Thank you

I am trying to keep positive, but just have no energy. I am forcing myself to keep moving as I have 3 dogs that need lots of exercise and I would never stop doing it for them as well as myself. I am eating more healthy but can't tolerate some veggies, broccoli, cauliflower etc. it just hurts when I eat them. I am taking just an over the counter multi-vitamin but not noticing anything yet. I will keep trying, thanks again. :(

I'm not a fan of multivitamins for people with Crohn's disease. There's a variety of reasons for this but one is they can lull you into a false sense of security. I say this because if you are deficient due to some aspect of Crohn's, then the chance of the amount of a vitamin that is present in a multi being enough is very low.

I agree with the member above who suggested getting tested. Some common deficiencies are vitamin B12, vitamin D, magnesium, folate, zinc but the more they're willing to test, the better. Please get tested, don't blindly supplement. You need to adjust your dose based upon your levels.

Thanks again

Morning, after reading your response, I think you are so right. I am not good at taking any type of medication that is why at least remicade is via infusion so don't have to remember to take it. I have called my doctor to set up an appointment so hopefully we will start doing some investigations. Thanks again I appreciate your suggestion and support.
