When I drink mildly there are no ill effects.
I had enough to get me drunk a few months after a stricture (I was also on my period, which worsens my Crohns) and there were no I'll effects for about a week. Then my stricture started to come back. I had also been reducing medication. Im not going to drink again until after my exams just in case but do you think it was the alcohol? I don't think so. Get well soon everyone :)

If alcohol ever upsets me it usually has a pretty quick effect. It also depends what you're drinking - for example, if I've been having pain recently, I know that I'll be down for the count if I drink beer, but wine or liquor are fine.

Inflammation doesn't happen quickly so my guess would be the reducing of medication that's allowing the stricture to come back. There's debate on it still but so far there's no concrete evidence that food or beverages cause flares. They can add irritation but once the food passes any affects that it gave should go away.

if u drink constantly then maybe it could cause it but as the above say, normally a one off will cause an upset stomach more than anything

Thanks guys :) I won't be drinking for quite sometime and when I do start drinking again it'll only be on special occasions. Better safe than sorry - plus I get to be the sober one who tell her friends of the stupid things they said, as they recover from their hangovers (I'm allowed to be cruel!!!!) x
