Those that experienced weight loss, what was the rate? I'm finding that I'm losing between 3-7 lbs a week. Granite I can afford to lose some weight.

I'm assuming this is primarily from not eating much.

Weight loss is one of my symptoms as well. My weight loss is from a combination of chronic diarrhea and not eating. Mine is never really the same...the most I have lost in a week is 12 pounds, bnut most of the time its 3 - 5 pounds a week.

Losing weight by not eating isn't healthy, even if you could afford to lose weight. For it to stay off you need to lose it the right way! If you are having a hard time eating I suggest getting some ensure. I drink one when I am in too much pain and I don't want a bunch of food in my system. And it has lots of protein to help me from losing muscle.

I typically drink 2 ensures a day and can usually only handle one actual meal a day which is usually chicken and potatoes or just potatoes.

I am finding that I can handle some breakfast cereals, so I try to munch on that here and there, but I know it's not health to be eating all of these carbs.

Ironically, I had tried the weight loss system that you get your meals mailed to you (not sure if it's permissible to name them here) when my problems kicked into overdrive. Not sure if the extremely high fiber content or some other ingredient caused this flare or if it was just coincidence.

I lost a total of 1 pound the 7 weeks I followed the program to a T. Now, I can't stop the weight from coming off. I had D the whole time, but had read that it was sometimes common while doing this program.

Hopefully I won't find out if it was this that caused it. It would make me sick again to find out that I spent $600 to get sick and have to spend thousands more.

The first flare I had; I lost about 20 lbs in six weeks. Right now, I am losing 8 lbs./week, but I am not 100% convinced I am in a flare. I have weight to lose due to meds, but I don't like the way CD has you lose too much too quickly.

weight loss.

hi i see this thread and thought id tell you about my weight loss. over the past eleven months i have lost 6 stone, going from a small 18 - a size 8,i have been acussed of having a eating disorder also even worse been acused of being a herion addict.which was shocking.i can understnad why people would judge books by covers but it really upsets me and i feel i have to justify everything.since my consultant put me on energy drinks containing 300cals each drink i have put a stone back on since my hospital stay, n and have maintained that stone..so dont look as bony..it just makes me paraniod as some of my family have found thereslfs questioning me so what is people thinking of me that dont know me!not good!....hoping for everyone to be given answers soon.x

I went into the hospital to have mt appendix removed (i had the big D for over 10+ years and they told me it was IBS, well, they found a mass and had to take it out, no cancer, but they said crohes for sure. i was always around 180 during mid life, oo I'm 61 now, Around 2005-6 i started lossing weight a little at a time having D all the time, but only about 2-3 times a day. I went through alot of **** from 2006, lost Mom and Dad, wife was sick (very sick, but ok now) and in 2009 I lost my job. I was down to about 165 then. but by mid 2011 i was down to 140. I went to the Doc. and the did test and said my appendix needs to come out. After they found the mass they took part of my collen and small intes. and re-conected me. 2 days after i got out of the hosp. i saw a wet spot on my shirt and went to the Dr., turns out that the connection broke and I was Septic, they operated again and I was in the hosp again for 2 weeks and i came out of there at 122lbs. I thought, What the _____? Well i have gained a few lbs, about 8-10. I have a ostomy bag now and the wond still is not healed. It's been 6 week post op. To make things worse, as of 12-31-2012 my insurance changed right in the middle of everything by my pension program. I have to find ALL new Dr. for everything. I had Kaiser and they were great, now i have a ppo, i went to a new PC Dr, today because i need home care for my wond. they said they will work on it, as of now I'm taking care of the woud. I am in a very bad space right now. All i do is think of is the crohes and how this is messing up my retirerment, i can't do anything and i'm begining to wonder if i ever will. I need to gain some weight. I'm try'n with ensure, protin bars, eating alot when i feel good. seems like all i do is eat and sleep, i hate it. I can't wait till the woud is healed or they get me some HOME CARE, i hate doing it myself. I have 2 6cm tunnels that are getting smaller but i still don't like to be the guy in charge. I need to think possative and up until the 30th of Dec. I was for the most part, but right now all i can think of is life with crohn's and feeling like crap. They have me on Pentasa noe 4 6X a day w/a ostomy bag. My GI said it still works. At least I don't have any bleeding and the pain is not to great in regards to the crohns, I think, its hard to tell when you got a wond and a ostomy bag hanging off your side. Just in a bad space tonight as you can tell. Think I'll smoke a fat boy, i don't drink or smoke cig. anymore. I stopped smoking on Nov. 7th when I went in for the 1st operation. I'm sure there is someone out there that can cheer me up a little. I promise I'll return the faver when I'm in a better space.

My weight loss has been due to not eating when I had blockages. I lost 40lbs in a month. I definitely do not recommend the method! The pain was so bad, I was afraid to eat anything for fear of having more pain. Thus... I lost weight.
