I'm not sure if this is crohns related or not but I figured I'd see if anyone has any opinions. Sometimes with crohns I get bad skin so it's not odd if I get acne here and there.. HOWEVER, I've got these two lumps that I originally thought were pimples, but I don't think they are. The are skin colour and ones on my face under my mouth (off to the side) and the other is on my neck. They aren't huge, and look kind of like boils, but again they are skin coloured and I cant pop them. I guess the one on my face kind of feels like a blister (how you can feel liquid in it).

Any ideas of what these are? I've had them for probably about a month now, where as (for me atleast) pimples seem to be gone within a few days.

I have just been to the dr with something similar today a very painful lump under my chin. The dr thinks it is a thyroglobulass cyst and I have been given some antibiotics they think I have got it because I am on steroids. I have had lumps on my neck before which turned out to be blocks salivary glands. Don't know if this helps best thing to do is check with a doctor. Hope you feel better soon x

Interesting i have one on the side of my face near my ear. I have yet to ask any one about it because i can't be bothered. i thought it was a crazy zit but now its a bump. been there for a month or so now. Not painful or anythng. it started though when I was have a bad skin break out which i would like to blame on humira.
with my hundreds of docs appointment you'd think I would ask at one of them.
let me know what you find out.

Sounds like it could be your hormones off balance. I am late 40's and as I enter "preimenopause" I am finding those are coming up. Almost like a boil....Anyway, I was told it was hormonal imbalance. Since I have hypothyroidism as well, I realize it is somewhat "normal" for either issue (menopause or hypothyroidism). I have found acne serums to be helpful and avoid touching the face (where it would stimulate it to grow).

I've got quite a few of these on my face, neck and around the breast bone. They started appearing shortly after I started on the Aza. The IBD nurse said to keep an eye on them and let him know if there are any major changes.

Outlier, that's exactly it. I got mine during a little outbreak, but these haven't gone away. They don't hurt, and they aren't red. I too haven't really looked into it because like you said I just can't be bothered with it, especially if it's not giving me pain (Stubborn I know lol).

Mickey... I'm only 21. Does that change things with the hormone inbalance? I do think I'm a little old to still be getting acne as I try to look professional and dress respectable and then I've got giant fricken tumours on my face lol. I just hate especially now that it's Christmas time, everyone wants to do family photos and that. It's hard to notice the one on my because of where it is, and it's a lot smaller, but the one on my face sticks out like a sore thumb when looking head on and it just ruins the picture

You can have hormonal imbalances at any age. Thyroid issues, etc... If you can not afford to get a facial (sometimes there are aestheticians schools near with discounted rate?), try to do so at home. Cleanse face first, exfoliate, then put on a mask, then rinse and then moisturize.

Or, put boiling water in sink and put towel over your head and sink and stay under there for as long as possible. It will help bring your boil to a head. Make sure you wash face really well beforehand and after. Do that a few times and perhaps it will bring it to a head. Keep face as clean as possible and moisturized. I have been having same problem over past few months. Began with when I had anemia a few months back and aesthetician said it looked like it was hormonal. I never had acne in my life, so it was a bit odd. Avoid touching the area, as that will only further exacerbate it. Could be meds throwing you off balance. pain to figure these things out!

KWalker i had the same thought I'm 29. though i do get hormal cyst on rare occasion "down there" they don't last for more then a month but def could be an optionhmm

Hmm well I don't know how willing I am to dunk my face in boiling water lol, but maybe ill get a really warm rag and hold it on the area. I just want it gone by Christmas

No no, not dunk face in water, but you sort of tent the towel over your head, so you are keeping the steam inside the tent over the sink. Only half fill the sink. When I have a cold or congestion I will add a little liquid Vicks to it and the menthol is quite soothing.

oh okay lol. I was going to say, that might hurt a little bit. I'll give it a try, thanks!

I've got the same thing on my forehead. Had them for years and nothing gets rid of them.

Hi I am newly diagnosed and have just made appointment with my GP for exact same thing, mine are on legs. Weird hard lumps, one especially on lower right inside leg is quite big!!! So see what GP says???

Hi my daughter was recenty diagnosed this year in march, she also suffered just after being diagnosed with painful lumps on her legs mainly shin and around the knees but also on her arms near her elbow, these were explained to us by a doctor to most probably erethema nodosum, they were very painful to touch and she also said all her joints ached like mad. They took a few weeks to calm down and they left bruise like marks that have now almost faded to nothing, at the time she had just started pentasa. Now she is 4 wks into taking azathioprine again she is having terrible joint pain and has come out in acne type spots along her forehead and cheeks this is a new thing, doc has prescribed duac gel but if you read the leaflet if u have an ibd it could cause problems, now dont know what to do any advise welcome
