Weird Question

Hello, this is my first time posting to this forum. I have had Crohns, Ulcerative Colitis and IBS for 10 years. I am on Prednisone 10mg, 6mp 50mg and Humira and still do not have complete reilef. What I have noticed is that whenever my doctor gives me a prescrption for Lotrimin Tablets my symptoms all but dissapear. I have gone through every test imaginable and procedure and do not have bacterial overgrowth, celiac, c dif or lactose intollerance. I have mentioned to both my doctor and my GI that the Lotrimin tablets really help my symptoms and they all but laugh me off. Does anyone have a similar story or any ideas about this?

ive never heard of that, but I wnet on hydrocodone for a wrist surgery. My systems got much better. I also have had crohns for about ten yrs, have ahd all of the same test. Current meds list is a mile long, but the hydrocodone was the missing piece.

I've heard that testing for bacterial overgrowth is a pretty hit or miss proposition at best.

My guess is that part of your problem... the IBS symptoms... are due to a fungal infection in the intestinal tract. Your Lotrimin impacts that...

I'm not sure about that medication and why it might be helping you but have you gone from a UC diagnosis to crohn's? You can't have both UC and crohn's but there are some whose IBD is indeterminate. There is crohn's colitis which is limited to your colon. One can have IBS and IBD but I'm wondering what your diagnosis is.
