I finally got my results from the colonoscopy and endoscopy I had 3 weeks ago, it turns out I have Antral Gastritis, My doctors says I'm in remissions for Crohn's although I'm not so sure only because recently I've been having blood in my stool :( pain, weight loss, nausea etc accompany this as well which isn't brilliant as I have a weigh in on Thursday and I have no idea what they will do :(, so I'm not in a very good place at the moment.

The only thing that is keeping me going is I'm getting a horse in 2-3 weeks time

Anyone got any advice??

Thanks :)

Were the scopes able to find the source of your bleeding? If not, I would ask for further tests (pill cam could possibly find the source of the bleeding if it's in your small intestine). Did your doctor say you're in remission based on the scopes? Have they done any bloodwork lately to check your vitamin levels, inflammation markers, etc? With the bleeding and the weight loss, it sure doesn't sound like remission to me, so if it were me I'd be pushing for more tests and answers.

They didn't find the source of the bleeding, my doctor won't do anymore tests because he says there is nothing wrong with me, He hasn't said I'm in remission based on the tests he just said it, I haven't had any bloodwork done lately as my doctor doesn't see any need for it because apparently there is nothing wrong with me. To me I think he is trying to say to me it's all in my head as he has said a few time before :ymad:

If you have a doc that basically inferring that "everything's in you head", I suggest finding a new doc. If the past 5 months with my new doc has taught me anything, its that getting a definite answer takes a lot of tests and sometimes those tests don't tell you much.

My first GI gave me the crohn's dx just based off of a Ig-E positive on my blood work, a few ulcerations on my first colonoscopy and the positive response to medication. My second GI just went off what the 1st did and prescribed remicade after the entocort stopped working after 2 weeks.

The GI that I'm currently seeing has me doing everything under the sun test wise to make sure that I really do have crohns. And if I do have it, he wants to be sure of what kind of medication that I should go on, rather than attempt a whole mess of stuff that won't work anyway.

If you have continued bleeding, make sure you have the source found asap. You could quickly become anemic and only make getting better that much harder.
