My crohn's has recently been flaring quite badly and it has once again go to the point where I can't really stomach solid food. It either feels like its stuck or it gives me such pain that I'm reacting to food like a Pavlovian response.

I have a Consultant appointment next Thursday, so if anything I just need to wait until then.

So tips and advice on what to eat until then would be awesome. :)

I would say, stock up on meal replacement drinks, like Ensure, boost, etc. I have found that when I am in tons of pain my appetite is gone so I will drink these for a couple days and it helps :) I have no issues with lactose, so my favorite thing is carnation instant breakfast in a blender with a banana and ice. Very tasty smoothie

I have never heard of Ensure or Boost. I'm in the UK so its probably a regional thing.

That breakfast thing sounds nice. Don't think we have the instant breakfast thing either though. :(

I am eating meal replacements but they're often low calorie things. Doesn't really help when its calories you need.

Don't eat solid foods, rather drink smoothies, chicken broth, etc until you can stomach them. Ripe Bananas, coconut milk, sunbutter (or peanut butter), and ice blended smooth can pack a lot of calories and give your digestion a little bit of a break. Good luck!

You can get Ensure and Boost here in the UK - Fortisips and Scandishakes too. Sometimes a hospital will be confined to one particular brand, but your GP should be able to prescribe you these supplements or something very similar.
