Has anything worked for you to help make you feel better or maybe even help put you into remission?

This is what has helped me:

Recieving B12 bi weekly for 3 months and then 1 a month to fight the drained no energy feeling.

Probiotics, for me a must.

I am always anemic despite taking iron pills or not so my doc started me on iron infusions. really helps with feeling awake and alert. More energy as well.

Gluten Free (HUGE HELP) though I splurge I am not superwomen you know.

Lactose free

NO ALCOHOL ..boo hoo. But not worth the pain I am left in.

Calcium/magnessium/zinc pill

Lamictal- now this is a bi polor med, however it is also used as a mood stabilizer to keep me from getting to down during bouts of anxiety and depression. I know some other people with crohn's suffer from anxiety and depression because of the limitations a crohns flare can do to you. After 2 weeks I noticed a huge change. Now if I go without it By day 2 I start feeling down and anxious. This just helps fight off the lows and unsettled feeling you feel at times.

Hope this has helped anyone and if you think anything has helped you please share, it might make someone feel better too. :ghug:

Ditching all red meat

Lots of fish (mercury is still a worry tho)

Bananas

Tons of water per day

No alcohol

Amitriptyline 25mg, given as a migraine preventative, but it helps me to sleep, and I believe it's reduced spasms and contractions too.

This forum has helped me alot. Recently I have eaten sweet potatoe mash (to make it taste better i make it 1 potatoe and 2 sweet potatoes so its not too sweet) every few days and it seems to really got rid of any D i get.

Some medications.. Pred and Methotrexate in particular.

Coming out of adolescence.

Lack of stress!!!!

Having my whole colon removed.

Apart from being on a low fibre diet when I had strictures, cutting out food groups or certain foods never did anything for me.

Sadly that is it!!! (Well I say sadly, I think having no Crohn's inside me right now is certainly something to celebrate). Getting better all by myself slowly as I got older was also a bonus. Although the Crohn's didn't go away completely.

Thanks everyone. You have all given me at least one great helpfull idea. See it works!! Keep them coming please.

For me, I think it has been getting regular sleep again. My daughter is no longer waking up in the night, so I get more sleep. Since that has happened, I am normally asleep before 10. At this same time, I have stopped bleeding through my bowels, I am absorbing iron again (both now at the high end of normal after 3 years of infusions/transfusions every 6 weeks - starting just before my daughter was born),and I have gained back literally all of the weight I lost due to Crohn's.

b12 injections have definitely helped me out BIG TIME!

My Dr has mentioned to me about iron infusions, bc I am very anemic, and am always feeling out of it. Sounds like it really helps for you. I will ask next time I go see my Dr.

Drinking water has helped me out big time too!

And lastly, for me, is as someone else said, Stress!! No stress I am A-OK!
