What is a Fever

Ok I am confused. When I go to the dr they take my temperature in the ear and its always about 99.5. When I take it orally it is normal sometimes slightly elevated. I know with Crohn's you can have a fever but what is it. Also I read the Pentasa causes a fever. Has anyone ever had any side affects from a Pentasa?

Here check this out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fever Basically Its your internal temperature if you get to hot like around 105 you could die if not treated or it could go the other way be to cold and have hypothermia.

I am on Pentasa now but just started. Low grade fevers can be normal as your body is trying to fight infections. If your temp spikes to 102 then I would call a doctor other wise you should be fine.
