My next appointment for my daughter is a week away and am desperately looking for answers.

My daughter has 5-7 BMs a day. When she goes the first part is normal, no blood on wiping. She sits there and then the stool gets harder, she's strains and then there is rush of blood that strains the toilet and tissue with bright red blood.

Is that an haemorrhoid/ fissure or fistula? This started yesterday. She was diagnosed with Crohn's and is on Imuran. Any ideas what it could be?

Thanks
Betsy

It could be a fissure or a hemorrhoid. Your GI will have to examine her to figure it out. My daughter has fissures and was given hydrocortisone suppositories for them. They worked very well and stopped the bleeding within days.
