Hi there - not sure if this is the right place to post this but I gotta ask...

What the heck is on the back of my leg?? :ymad:

I've got this ugly red & purple mountain on the back of my leg, the size of a plum - halfway down between the back of my knee and my left cheek and it hurts like a "BEOTCH"!! (pardon my french)

This is the second time it's come up in almost the same spot and my GI Dr. doesn't even know what it is. He has me on cipro and flagyl right now but it's not clearing up and I feel like screaming everytime something rubs past it - never mind sitting down. There is no head on it and the skin on the top is all dried out - I guess from the skin stretching... Is this how Ripley felt in "ALIEN"

Any ideas?

It could be skin stretching, though, stretch marks usually look more like spider veins. I don't know what else. I've found my GI to be less than helpful when it comes to issues not directly related to the gastrointestinal. You'll probably have to go in and see your PCP or skin specialist.

it could be erythema nodosum. google it! if it is, it should look EXACTLY like the pictures google finds.

Thanks for the suggestions guys - I've looked at the pictures and they don't resemble the 'growth'. I think I'll have to make a visit to my GP but good news, the thing finally burst which has taken away quite a bit of the pain...

Are we able to post pictures on here as long as all the pertinent parts are covered?
