I was just curious what kind of animals chronies have. I have a border collie and a sheltie. They are spoiled rotten, and I love them. My border collie could play with a frisbee until she drops. My sheltie is laid back and would rather just watch. They were getting a little overweight so the vet suggested frozen green beans or carrots for treats. They love them and each lost weight and have maintained it. Plus they cost much less the the fancy dog treats.
Have fun witht this.:us_flag:

Hi Lucy, I have two dogs. A springer spaniel and a golden Labrador (puppy).

I love them to pieces....they are just so funny sometimes, you could watch them all day. Our spaniel is nearly 14 years old, so he's just out to relax...but our Lab keeps him on his toes lol.

Be aware, Labradors are dustbins....my one eats anything, dead pigeons...3 and counting and yes, faeces too lol. Be warned.

Though, Labradors have a fantastic temprement...very loyal pets.

Liam I'm sorry for not knowing, but where is Leicester? I also had a 14yo cat that passed away last year. She was the best cat and put my dogs in their place. She was the boss of the house. Lol I miss her.

Sharon congrats on the quitting smoking that's fantastic!

Lucy, Leicester is in the East Midlands in the UK.

My lab has been put in her place by cats too lol. Yesterday she saw a horse for the first time when we out on a walk, she didn't know what to make of it lol.

I bet she thought....that's a big dog. She was excited, but a little nervous as well.

Hi
I've got a Lhasa apso dog, she's six years old, spoilt rotten and is led next to me on the settee. Whilst I'm playing on my I pad xx

I have Bogey - part wheaten terrier part miniature poodle. I absolutely adore him. He is my little baby and I spoil him rotten :)

Liam thanks now I've learned something new today. My dogs would run from a horse, but the chase the heck out of rabbits & birds. They corned a rabbit one time (my neighbors pet who kept coming in my yard) one dog was on one side and the othrer dog on the other side. That rabbit was screaming and sounded like a baby pig. I had to pick it up and put back over the fence. Thank goodness my dogs didn't eat it before I could save the poor little thing. They went into our front yard after that. Lol

Shelley I had a Lhasa for 14 years. He was so brave and wasn't scared of a thing even tho he should have been sometimes. He developed diabetes (had to have inj.), went blind, and eventually went to doggie heaven. I loved him so.

Beth my border collie is scared to death of thunderstorms. We have some really nasty ones here in Texas. We always tell her she is high maintance because she demands a ton of attention which we gladly give her.

Kelly is that your little guy in the photo? He is so cute! I bet he's your best friend just like mine are to me.

Thank you to everyone who responded.

<< My boy Trance, he is a Sheltie/golden, and have a Chesapeak bay retriever Holly, who looks like a golden but redish and curly hair on her back. Holly is a breed to save people from icy water, and she loves the icy water! Have a black and white cat Oscar, who I inherited because my daughter had to have him, mine now lol. I spoil my dogs rotten, the Holly the big girl literally hugs my husband and cries when he comes home... thank goodness she isnt human!:ylol2:

I have a german shedder... erm shepherd! (Sooooooo much hair comes off that dog! Lol) His name is Zeus and he's a loveable ham! I also have two cats, Baby and Rhett. They're both gray and Rhett is one of Baby's offspring. On top of that I have a tank full of fish! African cichlids to be exact :)

I have three fur children. Two little shitzus that are impossible to obedience train as they live their lives according to what they want me to do not what I want them to do. Izzy is 4 and Moo is 2. I have a black lab that reminds me daily why I love dogs. He spends his days swimming in the pool. When he is ready to come in he comes through his dog door and stands on his rug and let's out one bark that means "Hey I am in the house and wet, you better come dry me off" he knows he can't come past that rug if he is wet. He try to keep the two little ones in line but looks at them the way I do.

My little ones were bred for being companion dogs. They are here laying in bed watching tv with me. I love the breed for the fact that they do just want to hang out with you. They are a great comfort to me and so fun to watch. I let their hair grow out real log in the winter. The have hair not fur so they don't she.

Cisco, my lab makes up for what two little ones don't shed!

I had a cat her name was Beaumont, named for the town I was born in. I had to have her put down about a month ago after being the sweetest cat for the last 18 years. She was an inside cat and I miss her terribly,

I love this support site. In that there are other things to talk about besides the obvious. Thanks Lucy, great topic.

It's so funny the way little dogs "own" the house. My border collie likes to climb in my lap she's a 50lb little dog she thinks. Thanks for sharing all.

I have 3 kitties and a dog. I have a Mamma Kitty and her two babies. Adopted the Mamma kitty and 2 weeks later she had five kittens. Unfortunately 2 of them died a couple of weeks after birth. They were born outside & born in September and it was cold.

I had put them in my truck, the back of it cause I didn't want other animals to get to them and we didn't want to bring them inside, for fear of the dog hurting them. One day went to check on them and all of them were nearly dead.

Brought them inside and tried drying them off, unfortunately 2 of them were already gone but the other three, I dried them off and put a heater by them, pretty soon they were moving around and alert and hungry.

They survived and we kept them. Sadly 2 years later, another one passed away and we don't know why, guessing he had a bad heart. We still have the other two and the Mamma. The dog is a Lab and Australian shephard mix and all of them are spoiled of course.

I know ALL about that, my 80 pound female tries to get on and she is too big so she lets her legs dangle :lol2:

I had a corn snake, had to get rid when I moved it was sad I had her since she was wrapped around my finger like a worm untill she was 6ft. She was abnormally big for her breed as you know, friendliest thing ever. If I came in the room she'd go against the glass and follow me around and would sometimes just keep completely still around my neck.

I now have an african pygmy hedgehog. And I'm currently paying for an abandoned dog to come back to the UK, costing around £3,000 though. I'll post pics of her soon :)

I look forward to seeing the pics of the dog.

I used to want a snake when I was younger, when I was about 14 I was close to getting either a corn snake or a milk snake.

But it didn't happen it the end, as the family weren't comfortable with a snake in the house.

The thing with snakes, as you'll know Bobby, is that they usually only bite when threatend or startled.

<--- My puppy Max (well maybe not a puppy much longer, he's 1 3/4 years old). He's a Jack Russell Terror. I know what you mean about small dogs, he's only about 19 pounds but he seems to think he's a Rottweiler! Although he's not too big to sit on my knee when he wants a cuddle.

I also have two rabbits (not normally a good idea with a JRT about, but we manage), and a large tank of tropical fish. At last count we have 4 bristlenose catfish, 1 bulldog catfish, 3 clown loach, 4 silver sharks and 2 pink finned sharks. We did have some tetras and barbs, but since the addition of the pink finned sharks the little fish have all disappeared...

My gran used to have a jack russel, and he would try and take on any dog of any size lol. He was a bit nippy and could turn quite nasty but he wasn't phased by the bigger and stronger dogs.

A lot of the smaller dogs are like that for some reason, good on em though lol.

Aren't those the worst? I swear our gerbil waits until I have just swept up and turned around to throw stuff around again. Brat!

In addition to slobby gerbil, Snowball, we have two cats, Gary, an angora who is OLD, and Smokey, an American Shorthair that just turned 1. Gary meows just like the snail on Spongebob Squarepants, so our kids renamed her (yes, her) Gary a few years ago. Smokey is a beautiful grey color and is a big fat boy!
