victoria,
I just had a colonospy and it seems as though I'm not quite in the clear yet (colitis). I have felt fine for a while, I have not felt the best the last couple weeks and my canker sores have also come back. I started feeling symptoms march, diagnosed and started prednisone sept and only came off it a month ago. Prednisone obv didnt do the trick in the 4 months I was on it, I also can't take any 5asa's I react very strongly. I have heard many things online, juicing, certain supplements. What pushed you the extra mile into remission?

Hi there! All that pushed me into remission was surgery, lol. Wish it would have been juicing or something like that.

Same here, surgery.I had a resection in Novemeber and told I was in remission at my post-op visit.:smile:Good luck! I should clarify.I went in to emergency surgery for a close to completely blocked section of small intestine in my duodenum.I didn't choose to have surgery from options available. That was my first ever surgery and I'm 50:eek:

A massive reduction of my stress levels is what did the trick for me (along with methotrexate). I moved out of my mother's house four years ago and have been in remission ever since.

I agree with @SarahBear. When I first graduated undergrad I was unemployed and uninsured for 3 years and was unable to get ANY meds.

I had NO issues AT ALL!

However when I started working for my former employer, I went through a lot to the point HR had to get involved (a group a psychotic girls were harassing and antagonizing me for MONTHS), I became very sick, VERY quickly with a stricture.

I'm still recovering from that flare.

This made me a believer that stress does indeed play a huge role with CD.

I may be in remission because of surgery, but my need for surgery was influenced by stress. The couple of months my health worsened coincided with a very stressful time at work.I had surgery not long after.I'm sure I would have needed surgery eventually anyway but the work stress hastened it,in my opinion.
