What questions to ask?

Hi all
I was diagnosed with CD Sept 2010 after a week stay in the hospital. I had a ct scan, and colonoscopy to conclude the decision. The specialiast was not very informative. Pretty much said "You have Crohns, take these preds"
Well I have my 1st follow up appt with him tomorrow and I want more info but dont really know what questions to ask.
I still have LOTS of pain and nausea. He gave me t3's for the pain which dont seem to be working...
Does anyone have any advise as to what I should be talking to him about?

Some suggestions for you.

1. What parts of my digestive system are affected at this point?
2. What medications do you recommend? My medications aren't effective, what else can I try?
3. How soon should I expect relief?
4. What side effects from the medicines should I watch out for? What should I do if I notice them?
5. What should I do if my symptoms return? Which symptoms should I consider an emergency?
6. Should I change my diet or take nutritional supplements?
7. Do I need to make any other lifestyle changes?
8. When should we have a follow-up appointment?

wow! I think Babs pretty much covered it!! I always forget what i want to ask the doc when i get there! I would definitely write them down!!

I also love the "never trust a fart"!! hahaha.. haven't been able to fart with confidence in years :lol2:

The only thing I would add to that would be:

What level of severity is my Crohns?

Do I need any regular blood work?
