what 'sets off' your tummy pains (hope i'm not the only weirdo)

thought i would start this thread as i'm quite eager to hear what your opinions are on this topic...

do certain things bring on your stomach pains??

if i go into a CD music/ DVD shop i instantly get a bad stomach ache and quite often need to find a loo, if i avoid the shop though, my tummy is fine.. my partner thinks this is just an excuse to not go into 'his kind of shop' when we go shopping together lol!!!
so HMV and Virgin megastore are definate no,no's.
Argos would also make me nervous because once you order you're given a ticket and i know that if i leave to go to the toilet i will miss them calling my number so 9 times out of 10 i'll instantly be dying for the loo.
libraries also set me off, they make me a lil nervous.

i also get them when people give me to do lists.

i do really hope some of you are as strange as me...if not stranger haha!

I don't really have the belly pain any more but when I did there was plenty of things that set the belly off... Now I just have the sudden urge for a bathroom with no pain...
*The smell of BBQ sauce
*Heat in crowded places or rooms with bad ventilation
*Hurrying - any time I try to rush my belly freaks out
*Traffic jams - never fails a 3 car pile up and I suddenly have the gotta go urge
*Work meetings (I think this is because I worry about having to get up and leave and everyone starring at me and asking if I am ok or something - So I bring it on myself)

to name a few

for me it would have to be:
long car rides
crowded places
if i get just the tiniest bit cold
eating something i know i can't tolerate
*the weird thing is whenever i am in the hospital even when i am in a flare i cannot seem to go to the bathroom, idk why?

lol they're funny, glad i'm not the only one then! i agree with the coldness thing too, if i'm chilly enough to get goosebumps it can set me off.

I work on my feet all day (minimum 6 hours) and I am fine. I don't eat before I go, intentionally, but still..I am almost always fine.
Then I leave work today thinking all is well...go grocery shopping...then 5 mins after I am in the store it never fails and I have to go rushing to the bathroom!
Rediculous! LOL...and why don't they make it mandatory that ALL public bathrooms play music ?? GEEZZ....:rof::rof:
OH the embarrassment !

Please do not think you're weird. Besides food, hockey games are known to set me off. I love hockey, and here in Alaska, it is a big thing. I start getting the cramping pressure and mild nausea at hockey games. I think it's psychological. Maybe I'm worried that I won't be able to make it to the restroom, there will be a long line at the restroom, or I'll eat something that will cause me hours of distress.

Exercise gets me everytime. I used to get butterflies in my stomach, now there more like hornets. But the worst is when the dog jumps up on your stomach = p

A lot of the similar things mention set me off. It's weird. And ny stomach just seems to know when I walk in the door of my house... I can be fine, walk in and all of a sudden have to go!

I am not even an IBDer, but Marshalls sets me off 90% of the time. And my mom is the same way with TJ Maxx. I used to think she was crazy. Now I think something is up with those stores. This is funny.
