We've had a dehydrator for a couple years but aren't sure exactly what to use it for. Can anyone explain a little more what these things do? Basically, we're trying to find out the point of dehydrating as well as what kinds of foods to do this to. Plus, what do you do with the foods after you're done? Thanks for any suggestions.

HI, I like to make my own breakfast cereal and I use my dehydrator to try my fruit for that. I also use it to dry the herbs that I grow in the garden.

As everybody's aware Crohn's is such an individualized disease, for my circumstances I need to stay away from dehydrators. The reason being is when you have three strictures you harder foods might have a hard time passing through the strictures. Just something to think about.

I just tried grapes, I cut them in half nd deseeded them. All I got was dried skins. I guess I had them on too long, any other ideas wot went wrong?
