what to expect

I will be getting my first dose of humira in the morning, I am kind of scared of the side effects that may come with it, can anyone tell me please!!!!!!!!!!.
Does anyone take humira and imuran together?

Humeria literally was my life saver!! And I'm such a baby with shots, my mother actually is a nurse and after two years on the shots...she still gives it to me in my thigh. Are you doing the four for the first dose? Its not to bad...once you get over the pop of it going in...your fine. Just stings a bit. And I tell anyone who asks thigh verses stomach...def the thigh...because having something pop into my yummy isn't the greatest thought for me. I'm rambling.... Lol. Ask me anything..I'm here to help in any way I can. I normally count to 14 and by that time your done with it.

As for the imuran..my doc started me on it and it made me more sick..hair started to fall out...not eating...etc. So he took me off of it and humeria has been my best friend for two years!! GL! :) Don't worry yourself to much, you'll do fine!

Also...the shots only side effect for me is maybe a little tired afterwards and the injection spot after icing a good 25mins is just a tad sore. Otherwise, I feel fine! :) Hope I could help.

they din't give me much info on the medication, after a year and 8 or 9 ct scans they are in hurry to start it now so i will find out tomorrow how much, they did say i would remain on the imuran and humira

It is most likely 4injections then, most all Humeria injections start off with 4. I'm surprised they didn't give you a starter kit to go over as well beforehand. Either way, don't worry to much and there is a Humeria club on this forum. Just search Humeria and it will pull up a lot of different, helpful links. :)

Congrats, Joan Marie! The hardest part is over. I've never really noticed any side effects from the Humira besides the "humira hangover" after taking it, but i've never been on imuran. good luck. i hope it works for you!

Hi,
I am on both imuran and humira. Being on both is supposed to reduce the risk of developing antibodies against humira and it induces remission in more people.
The only side effect so far(5 weeks in) is muscle spasms of legs and hands for a few days but this seems to be settling.
My white count has dropped again to 2.8 which is a worry but last test it came back up.
Make sure you keep up with your blood tests as both drugs can lower your white count- though aza more likely to.
Fingers crossed it has you on the mend soon.
