I get to drink some lovely prep on Wednesday afternoon, as I'm having the pill cam on Thursday and my bowels need to be cleaned out. And I just remembered that we have one of those little portable DVD players, and I think I'll have to dust it off and bring it into the bathroom to watch some DVDs while I'm strapped to the toilet. :)

Any suggestions as to what I should watch? Do you guys watch movies/TV shows while you're prepping? I'm thinking something funny - maybe Mr. Bean or something like that. Something funny enough to distract me from what's going on down below and nothing sad or scary or too dramatic. Any suggestions?

I've been watching loads of curb your enthusiasm recently since diagnosis. Think its becoming my favourite show. :p

Hope you're not like me cat and have to wait 6 hours for the prep to start to work. I was so tired when it started at midnight that I don't think I couldve watched anything!!
Good luck with it all and let us know how it goes.
I do love curb but I sometimes have to watch it whilst peeping through my fingers. Cringe!!

Aw good luck Cat, it's not pleasant!
How about Blazing Saddles, ha ha ha when they're all farting, laugh out loud funny that!
That'll empty ya quickly!
good luck
xxxx

Oh, I haven't watched Blazing Saddles in awhile, I forgot about the farting! I do have that one on DVD so that is definitely going into the bathroom with me. Maybe I'll make it a Mel Brooks movie night, I know I have Young Frankenstein on DVD too. :)

I haven't ever watched Curb Your Enthusiasm, I'll have to see if I can borrow or rent it before Wednesday. My brother's currently living with us and he might have it on DVD, he's mentioned in the past that he likes that show. Thanks for the suggestions! Keep 'em coming, I might need more ideas in case it's a long night like Sam's experience. (Fortunately I took off work the following day, so if I am up all night I can sleep during the day while the pill cam is doing its thing.)

Yeah a Mel Brooks night, great stuff!

if it was me, I'd watch Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life

or my box set of 6 Lee Evans gigs, or 'Spaced' back to back, or 'The Green Wing' back to back
These are all Brit stuff tho ^, and you've prob never even heard of em!
Guaranteed to make you laugh out loud tho!

Joan, I actually do like British comedies a lot. I like Monty Python, Red Dwarf, The IT Crowd, Black Adder, Mr. Bean, Coupling, Doc Martin, Little Britain... I'm sure the list goes on but those are some of my favorites. I tried watching Spaced but didn't really get into it. I haven't heard of the other shows you mentioned, but I'll see if I can find them over here. I don't have any of the Monty Python movies on DVD so I can't watch those, but I do have a bunch of the episodes on DVD. I even named my pet hedgehog Spiny Norman after a hedgehog that was in a Monty Python sketch! :)

LMAO at Blazing Saddles and Monty Python movies!!!!!... now I am never going to be able to watch them without thinking aobut Cat and her prep!! LMAO ;) :p

Wish I could help, but my prep time is usually used to catch up on some good novels... I have to admit, usually some trashy romance thingy, but I like anything funny...just anything to get lost in... and paperbacks are usually the best as they are extremely portable for that dash from couch to toilet to bed to toilet to tub to toilet, etc...lol

Although, a portable DVD sounds like it might be a good idea.... I might have to check into tha!!!

If it was me, season 8 of Family Guy, it's bound to have a half dozen fart and poop scenes. It's the only season I haven't seen entirely, it can be offensive humor, though (in case you haven't seen it before).

Silver: I have a good novel too, so I have plenty of options for portable bathroom entertainment. :) But I am in the mood to watch some DVDs. As far as the portable DVD player goes, we bought ours years ago and I think it was about $120? I think they've gone down to about $60 or $80ish now, not too bad. Ours even came with a remote, which is funny because why would you need a remote when you are already holding the thing on your lap? If you hold it any further away, you can't see the tiny screen. So no need for a remote!

BWS, I have seen Family Guy and have the first few seasons on DVD (the seasons before the long hiatus/cancellation thing). I haven't watched it in awhile so that's another good choice for my prep DVD pile. :)
