Hello I am an older crohns starter, which was diagnosed when I was 55,just a few pains and the toilet thing, put it down to the wrong thing I ate, then the bones started to hurt, I have always had mouth ulcers but did'nt know about crohns then, just thought it was in my genes, till my dentist said it was not right to get them as big and awfull.
I have since got worse and have recently found that i have a fistula, I had a sigmoidoscopy and that hurt like hell,it's the only time i have ever screamed in an examination.
I have had predisalone sulphazalizine antibiotics for 6 weeks am taking now pentasa and methotrexate and protium to stop me vomiting with acid, the fistula is back and filling up so the abcess is back and they advise infliximab for the next stage I have had the tests done except the skin test.can anybody identify with this and what happened with the infliximab and fistula

Hey Peakey, I thought I recognized your name! Sorry for the spammer! I'm no help with the fistula but have seen Remi mentioned as the best medicinal approach to try to avoid surgery. Good luck!

Hi and welcome! I don't have first hand experience, but I know many have had success treating fistulas with infliximab. Actually, some on the forum said they closed up within days after their first treatment! I sure hope it does wonders for you. Keep us posted!

Hi Peaky! Sorry I don't really have any advice for you, but I just wanted to say, welcome to the forum! We have Crohnies here of all ages here, and all are welcome. Hopefully someone else can be a bit more helpful.
