Hello everyone and thanks to this forum for being here. This is my first post.

I had my first surgery on Friday and my doctor said it was his best and most smooth surgery he has had in two years. Nice!
Now, before the surgery I had been treating myself with marijuana. Now, I live in a state where it's not 100% legal yet, so I couldn't tell my doctor about that just yet.
I don't know, when it would be ok for me to start smoking again, and I was wondering, if you would have any ideas as to when that would be? Obviously, coughing isn't the best thing, and either isn't tobacco, but besides that?

I have to say, weed has been my miracle drug and replaced all painkillers for me, so I can't wait to switch back!

Rather than smoking it, why not look in to something like CBD oil. No tobacco, no coughing and no high. Just the oil and will give you the same benefits of being able to reduce your pain killers etc.
Obviously this is not medical advice, I have no medical knowledge. However, it will most certainly be better than smoking ;)

I definitely, definitely want to look into the once we have it legalized here, the only reason for smoking it at the moment is the limited access that I have. ;-)I normally often grab to edibles as well, as they last longer, which is better for pain.

I would stick to edibles for the time being then ;) try and reduce the risk of coughing. You do not want to give yourself a hernia

CBD oil and capsules are legal in the US no matter what state you live in because they are classed as dietary supplements. My GI recommended CBD products for both pain and inflammation.

If you can't smoke it without coughing, make a tea or just eat some. The effects of marijuana are so helpful post surgery for pain, anxiety, appetite and nausea for me. I pick it over any medication for crohns disease.
