Howdy folks!

So, I've been tested a couple times after being diagnosed with CD, and as of my last check, I've raised my vitamin D to a healthy level (from 17 to 50+), and I've even pushed up my B12 levels with supplements (from the low 400s to the low 700s -- which indicates that my TI is still absorbing nutrients, which is GREAT). You can see what I've been taking in my signature below. I'm feeling pretty OK most of the time.

All that said, when is it probably wise to dial it down a bit, and stop taking certain supplements (or take them less often)? Any advice or opinions out there?

Paging David. :)

Great job!

It's pretty simple really. You can stop or dial back when you maintain optimal levels without supplementation or via lower intake. What is optimal? That's hard to know for sure. But I believe 60+ on vitamin D and 700+ on vitamin B12 is pretty optimal but that is merely my opinion based upon my research and if you ask me again in a month, those numbers may vary a little again :)

If I was in your position, I would maintain my current supplementation levels and then get tested again in a couple months. If the levels are the same, then that tells me I may have hit a plateau and this dose might actually be perfect for now. If the numbers continue to go up, that tells me maybe I can cut the dose a little if the increase is sufficient.

Cool. I have an appointment in early December, so I'll ask for another round of tests and check em out then.
