Sorry for the graphic nature of this. I noticed today I had a solid movement but there were bright white globs almost like toilet paper or lard, in the brown stuff and on the side of it?! I normally have ones that, er "float" but this was a sinker. Just wondering what the white stuff could've been as was fairly alarmed. Thought either mucas or fat maybe? About 30 mins after I had a another visit but this time D that was quite dark brown.

Not been diagnosed with anything. Posted my symptoms on earlier thread. Mainly general stomach pain inc lower right quarter dull ache and up right side, gas, heartburn and v occasional loose movements and now, er, white bits it seems?! I've got a set of tests coming up to investigate.

Sounds like mucous....Kinda snot looking? Fairly normal for most people around here, i believe. :)
And never worry about being too graphic around here, we're pretty open about poop talk. :) Welcome to the forums!

Hey thanks for the welcome! I've yet to find out what I've got. The GI still thinks it's not Crohn's at this stage but I'm due to have a colonoscopy soon. I read somewhere that mucus is not so much associated with Crohn's but more with UC and IBS?

I've written a post recently describing my symptoms. I seem to have a constant dull lower right ache that sometimes spreads up right side to under right ribs, with loads of rumbling and sometimes heartburn. Had the pain for 6 weeks now. I used to just go once a morning but now when I go in the morning it's solid but not much comes out then I might go again in the afternoon and it's little thin bits or it could be loose. Generally going twice a day but I feel like I need to go a lot and can't seem to get much out. Driving me bonkers no knowing what it is

I'm in the same boat as you, undiagnosed, symptoms are all over the place, it's deffinately frustrating not knowing what the heck is going on.

Mucous can be associated with just about all, i believe. It depends where your bowel is diseased, Crohns can be found in the rectum/descending colon, which i think is typically where mucous comes from.

Welcome, Tiddymun.

A lot of us on here have mucous (sooooo pleasant lol). It's definitely associated with CD, UC, and a bunch of other issues.

LMAO ~ so you have sinkers and floaters?? Don't worry about being graphic on here. I'm pretty sure we all know each other's "poop habits" by now...

Do you have a lot of fat in your diet? The reason I ask is because the whitish color may be fat. I have both ~ fat AND mucous.

What kind of tests are you scheduled for?

Welcome Tiddymun:) Never had that problem sorry can't help. Hope you can get so anwers with your tests when are they , soon I hope . Do you drink a lot of water? Might help move things along?

I wondered if it could be fat. I think I get an average amount of fat in my diet. I'm due to have a colonoscopy at least, a barium x ray and I think possibly an endoscopy and more blood tests. Waiting on a Coeliac blood test result too.

GI seemed still to be positive it wasn't Crohn's but of course we don't know yet. I heard the chances of finding anything first time with a Colonoscopy even if it is Crohn's are not that good?

It all depends on how inflammed it is
if it's a bad flare then they should find somethin

they found mine first go
