world cup predicitions

as i seem to have a knack for predicting winners i thought you may want to join me.

england will get kick out in the round robin, no change there then!!!

the final will be italy/france

Wouldn't have the faintest idea but my son reckons Spain will take the trophy home.

England?
Not a cat in Hells chance!!

Italy V Spain for final - Spain to win

I'm pulling for Holland. I hate American soccer so I honestly hope they get knocked out early on.

It's amazing over here how ESPN and ABC have been plugging and advertising the World Cup non-stop. But it is just not that popular and if I had to guess most of the viewers in this country are either soccer players or those who still have a strong link to their home country. Kind of depressing because it is such a great game.

I have a friend who grew up in Spain who goes nuckin' futs over soccer. I guess I'll pull for Espana in solidarity with him.

My money is on either Argentina or Spain. England will get to the Semi final.. i will be happy with that. As long as we dont go home too early.

Why is it that the US just isn't that into football?

I think its because we like American Football so much. I've never been into soccer (football to you europeans) because its not really well broadcasted here... not much access to soccer beyond local youth leagues.

How is "soccer" percieved in the US? I just find it fascinating how the rest of the world is in love with the sport and the US just seems to let it pass by.

We are just beginning to like soccer here. We sort of melded soccer and rugby into football and never looked back. Until probably 25-30 years ago, children here were not exposed to soccer at all. Now, many kids play in youth leagues so it's bound to grow more popular as they age.

When I was a freshman in high school, my French teacher tried to introduce us to the game. Of course we'd heard of soccer, but it just wasn't ready to catch on in the states back then...way back then.

I'll be honest, I only watch Soccer(Football) during the World Cup. I much prefer American Football. For me, it's the perfect balance of action, contact, and strategy. I do enjoy the World Cup for the magnitude of the event, but there's just not enough action for me to be a regular fan. I recognize that I may be in the minority versus the world when it comes to Soccer. For me, there is an imbalance with Soccer that makes it a difficult watch. Too much strategy, not enough action. And what's with all the buzzing ? I understand that it's customary at South African sporting events, but it makes the match almost unwatchable.

I was so angry at the dive fest that the Spanish put on. That takes so much away from the game. That may have been the worst world cup final I've seen.

definatly agree ding. i was telling my nieghbour about the octopus predicting the footie results, and i could see that look in her eyes, you know the one where they tink your totally mad?
